(Spokane, Wash. - Sept. 5, 2024) - Completing back-to-back sweeps for the first time since the final two matches of the spring 2021 season, the Trailblazers opened up the Gonzaga Tournament on Thursday night with a sweep over Cal State Fullerton at the Charlotte Y. Martin Centre.
Utah Tech (3-1) took sets, 25-18, 25-12, 25-23 over Cal State Fullerton (0-4). Led by 14 kills from junior outside hitter
Kennedi Knudsen, the Trailblazers hit .427 as a team.

Meg Carter added a team-leading 18 assists while sophomore outside hitter
Tessa Treanor nearly tallied a double-double finishing with 11 kills and eight digs.
As a team, the Trailblazers led the match in kills (50-33), blocks (7.0-4.0), digs (34-32) and assists (42-32).
The opening set saw the Trailblazers use a 5-0 run to take an early 10-9 lead to 15-9 after a kill by Knudsen.
Continuing to lead by five at 21-16 after a service error by the Blazers, UT scored four of the final six points of the set getting a kill from Knudsen for a 25-18 set win.
A dominant second set saw the Trailblazers race out to a 15-7 lead after an 8-1 run. A kill by the Titans kept Fullerton within eight of the Blazers, but it was all UT down the stretch scoring the final five points in the set, including three kills by Treanor, for a 25-12 win.
Fullerton fought hard in the third set jumping out to a 13-11 lead. With the Trailblazers continuing to trail by a pair at 21-19, four straight points put UT ahead by two at 23-21. Kills by

The Trailblazers wrap up the Gonzaga Tournament on Friday night taking on host Gonzaga (1-2) at 7 p.m.
