(Seattle - April 6, 2024) - The Trailblazers closed out their series at Seattle U on Saturday afternoon falling 1-0 at Logan Field.
Utah Tech (12-24, 5-7 WAC), who was shutout for the first time since March 9 at UCSB, was held to two hits against Seattle U (16-22, 8-6 WAC).
The Trailblazers got singles from
Laura Lockard in the second and
Oaklee Trapp in the fifth as no baserunners were able to advance past second base in the contest.
In the circle,
Attlyn Johnston made her team-leading 15th start, limiting the Redhawks to seven hits, one run, no walks and struck out four.
Unfortunately, the Redhawks starter, Stefanie Madrigal, was just a little better as she held UT to two hits and struck out six for her eighth win of 2024.
The lone run of the contest came for SU in the second inning on a two-out RBI single back up the middle by Karen Spadafora.
The Trailblazers return home to host a doubleheader against Southern Utah (14-18, 4-8 WAC) on Tuesday at 3 p.m. for Stand Up to Cancer Day.
