(Arlington, Texas - April 3, 2024) - The Trailblazers closed out their Texas road trip on Wednesday afternoon falling 6-1 to UT Arlington at the UTA Tennis Center.

"It was a good match, UT Arlington is a very strong team, and the girls really played well!," said head coach Eric Pelton. 

The number one doubles team of Rachel Mellor and Mariana Zurita battled tough, almost pulling off an upset dropping a tiebreaker by two points falling, 7-5.

Moving on to singles, the Trailblazers earned a point at the top spot with sophomore Adithi Venkatakrishnan winning at number one singles taking the opening set, 6-4 and winning the third set tiebreaker, 12-10 for her sixth singles win of the season.

"Adi played some absolutely incredible tennis! She hit some amazing shots and controlled the points with her ground strokes to win the 1st set and came up big in the third set tiebreaker, fighting off two match points to get the huge win," added Pelton.

The Trailblazers return home to host UTRGV (8-10, 0-4 WAC) on Sunday for Senior Day at 10 a.m.
