TRAILBLAZERS SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER AGAINST THUNDERBIRDS
The Trailblazers split a doubleheader on Tuesday against Southern Utah winning 5-0 in game one before falling 10-0 in five innings in the nightcap.

The Blazers used a strong pitching performance from Attlyn Johnston in game one tossing a two-hit shutout while matching her season best with nine strikeouts.

She held the Thunderbirds off the base paths in six of seven innings with SUU only able to reach base in the fifth inning collecting its lone two hits of the contest.

The second game of the day saw the Trailblazers fall victim to a six-run second inning by SUU with the Thunderbirds adding four runs in the third while UT was unable to generate any offense in the contest.

ABOUT THE CALIFORNIA BAPTIST LANCERS
The Lancers are 22-19 overall on the season with a 9-3 record in the WAC to sit second in the conference, trailing only Grand Canyon. CBU swept three-game series over Tarleton State and Southern Utah along with two games last weekend at Utah Valley before the series finale got rained out.

California Baptist is only 3-9 away from home while going 18-10 at home and 1-0 at a neutral site. The Lancers are hitting .320 as a team to rank second in the WAC and 24th nationally. CBU is averaging 4.6 runs per game and 8.7 hits per game.

The Lancers are led by infielder Kayla Lyon, who earned WAC Player of the Week honors this week, as the sophomore ranks second in the nation with 18 doubles to go along with topping the team in RBI (33), home runs (6) and hits (49).

In the circle, California Baptist has a team ERA of 2.96, second in the WAC, while opponents are hitting .253 from the plate.

Three Lancers have six or more wins as Morgan McConnell leads the team in starts (15), innings pitched (95.1) and strikeouts (44) and joins Presley Hosick with seven victories apiece.
