TRAILBLAZERS WIN SERIES AT STEPHEN F. AUSTIN
The Trailblazers swept a doubleheader over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday with a pair of 1-0 wins behind complete game shutouts from pitchers Attlyn Johnston and Danyelle Leone. The series wrapped up on Sunday with a tough 3-1 loss.

JOHNSTON EARNS WAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK HONORS
Johnston earned WAC Pitcher of the Week honors on Monday after going 1-1 on the weekend with a 1.27 ERA tossing 11.0 innings while striking out 13 and walking two.

WE'LL TAKE THAT
The Blazers are among the WAC leaders in stolen bases sitting third with 33. '

Leading the way is speedster LB Kahahwai-Kekona with 10 to sit third in the WAC. Sadie Gardner has added eight stolen bags and Maka Sonognini has posted six.

TAKING A STROLL
The Trailblazers rank fourth in the WAC in walks drawing 79 free passes this season.

Freshman Gabi Giroux leads the conference with 16 walks drawing walks in 12 games.

ABOUT THE BYU COUGARS
The Cougars are 17-12 overall on the season coming off winning one of three over No. 4 Oklahoma State at home over the weekend. BYU is 1-6 on the road with its lone win coming at Hawaii on Feb. 10.

BYU ranks 18th nationally and third in the Big 12 in batting average hitting .325 as a team. The Cougars average 6.4 runs per game and 8.4 hits per game with seven starters hitting north of .299. 

Senior outfielder Violet Zavodnik leads the team with a .452 average while Ailana Agbayani leads the Big 12 and ranks 10th nationally in runs per game (1.21).

On the pitching side, BYU is ninth in the Big 12 in ERA (4.87) while opponents are hitting .288 and have a 1.37 strikeout-to-walk ratio. Senior left-hander Chloe Temples leads the team in innings pitched (62.0), starts (11), wins (5), ERA (3.95) and strikeouts (66).

SERIES HISTORY VS. BYU
The Trailblazers trail the all-time series against BYU, 0-6 having dropped all three contests in 2023.

UT dropped a pair of home contests, 3-1 and 14-11 last season and fell 4-3 on the road.

UP NEXT
The Trailblazers stay at home this weekend to host Grand Canyon (25-8, 4-2 WAC) on Friday and Saturday.

Saturday will be Military Appreciation Day at Karl Brooks Field.
