(St. George, Utah – Jan. 24, 2023) Utah Tech softball is set to host its 2024 alumni event next weekend, Feb. 2-3. The event, which currently has over 100 former Trailblazers signed up to participate, will have alumni in attendance from all years of the program's history – including representatives from the program's first ever team back in 1975.
 
All of the weekend's activities are open to all alumni and their families, and the action begins on Friday, Feb. 2. After an open practice from 1-3 p.m., an open house will be held at Karl Brooks Field from 3-5 p.m. for alumni to tour the clubhouse, field and locker room.
 
An action-packed Saturday, Feb. 3, begins at the Human Performance Center (HPC). At 9 a.m., two events will begin simultaneously: an alumni breakfast / reception in the main lobby and room 104, as well as pickleball on the HPC's rooftop courts. Alumni can grab breakfast, pick up t-shirts, connect with each other and check out the amazing features of the Biomechanics Lab in HPC 104 while enjoying the views from atop this amazing facility.
 
At 11 a.m. Karl Brooks Field will be opened up for pregame batting practice in the cages and a Home Run Derby on the field; any and all alumni are welcome to get some swings in.
 
The alumni game begins one hour later at 12 p.m. Participants will be split into two teams based on graduation year and the game will exclusively feature former Trailblazers; t-shirts can be picked up at this time as well.
 
After the game's conclusion, all alumni and families are invited to attend the men's basketball game in Burns Arena against UT Arlington. Members of the 2024 Utah Tech softball team will be handing out schedule posters and throwing UT softball swag into the stands throughout the game. 
 
At halftime, all alumni and the current team will be invited on the floor to be recognized; at this time, the 2023 Trailblazer softball team will be presented with its WAC championship rings. 
 
The weekend's final event is set to begin at 6 p.m. An alumni dinner with family members and the current team will take place in the HPC Gym, and feature a slideshow with pictures from 1975 to present that were submitted by alumni. Any shirts that haven't yet been passed out can be picked up at this dinner.
