Utah Tech Softball Announces 2024 Schedule

Trailblazers open things up on Feb. 8 at Arizona; home opener slated for Feb. 22.

(St. George, Utah – Jan. 12, 2024) The official 2024 Utah Tech softball schedule was announced on Friday, with the Trailblazers set to play 52 games across a three-month regular season – 24 of which will take place at Karl Brooks Field.

The reigning WAC regular season champions will start things off down in Tucson, Ariz., for an opening weekend tournament hosted by Arizona. Across the three-day event, scheduled for Feb. 8-10, Utah Tech will play five games against Arizona, Northern Colorado, North Texas and Lipscomb. Another road tournament is scheduled for the following week, Feb. 16-18, in which UT plays Pacific and CSUN in Northridge, Calif.

After playing two tournaments on the road Coach Simkins' squad will host its next next two tournaments, welcoming Idaho State, Weber State, Utah State and Eastern Kentucky in an event slated for Feb. 22-26 before welcoming Wisconsin, Utah and Utah State to Karl Brooks Field between the dates of March 1 and March 5.

The final non-conference tournament is slated for March 8-10 in Santa Barbara, Calif., when the Trailblazers will play five games against Lehigh and UC Santa Barbara.

WAC action commences March 15-16 at Karl Brooks Field, when Abilene Christian visits St. George for a three-game series. It's back on the road the following weekend as well, as Utah Tech heads to Nacogdoches, Texas, for a series at Stephen F. Austin scheduled for March 22-23.

After a mid-week matchup against in-state foe BYU on March 26, UT hosts Grand Canyon before heading up to Provo to play BYU on April 2 in the non-conference finale.

The team will spend its first weekend of April in Seattle, Wash., playing the Redhawks April 5-6, before welcoming the Southern Utah Thunderbirds to St. George for an April 9 doubleheader. After that doubleheader matchup, UT remains at home for its next series, hosting California Baptist April 12-13.

Stephenville, Texas, is the site of Utah Tech's next matchup, when the Trailblazers head south to face Tarleton State April 19-20; the team's final home series is slated for April 26-27 against UT Arlington.

The 2024 regular season will conclude with a three-game series at Utah Valley May 3-4 and the 2024 WAC Tournament, hosted by Seattle U, is scheduled for May 7-10.
