Utah Tech fifth-year pitcher
Kate Dolinski was named TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday for her performances in the Trailblazers' three-game home sweep of Seattle U last weekend at Karl Brooks Field.
Dolinski went 2-0 in two starts vs. Seattle U, striking out five while allowing only one earned run (two total runs) and eight hits in 12.0 total inning of work. The Redhawks batted just .178 against her while she finished the weekend with a 0.58 ERA.
The righthander earned the decision in the series opener last Friday after she scattered two runs (one earned) and four hits with a pair of strikeouts in a 10-2, five-inning complete game win.
Dolinski followed that up with a four-hit shutout in Saturday's finale, during which she fanned three and only had one Redhawk baserunner reach third base in the 2-0 victory.
Utah Tech begins a stretch that will see the Trailblazers play seven of their next 10 games on the road, starting with a key WAC road series at Grand Canyon this weekend in Phoenix.
