Utah Tech opened its three-match WAC homestand on the wrong end of a hard-fought 4-3 dual to Seattle U on Sunday at the Trailblazer Tennis Courts. 
 
The Trailblazers (2-13/0-3 WAC) and Redhawks split the first two doubles matches, with the duo of Alysha Damron and Jane Dorny claiming a 7-5 victory at No. 3 doubles. However Seattle U (3-7/1-2 WAC) managed to earn the first point after Rachel Mellor and Annemiek Sterk were outlasted in the No. 1 doubles match, 7-6. 
 
Utah Tech picked up three wins in singles play, with Adithi Venkatakrishnan recording the Blazers' first point with a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles vs. Lola Tavcar. Sterk then followed suit at No. 4 singles with a three-set win over Marija Elenova 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
 
Raquel Roshak tallied the Blazers' third singles point with a gritty 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 three-set victory over Jade Quintana at No. 6 singles. However the Redhawks would clinch the dual result with straight-set wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, and a three-set triumph at No. 5 singles. 
 
Utah Tech will continue its homestand this Friday afternoon with a dual match vs. UT Arlington beginning at 1 p.m.
