Brooke Gelinas was named Western Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week after her record-breaking performance at last weekend's Northern Arizona Red Rocks Invitational played at Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz.

Gelinas (5-7; Bonney Lake, Wash./White River HS) enjoyed a banner weekend as she posted her first collegiate top-three individual finish as she tied for third overall at minus-1 215.Â

The freshman carded a pair of 1-under 71s on Saturday morning and Sunday, which bracketed a 1-over 73 in round two on Saturday afternoon, on her way to breaking the UT school 54-hole scoring record by two strokes.Â

The freshman co-led the 105-player field with 14 birdies and penciled in 28 pars over her three loops. Gelinas finished the event tied for second in par-4 scoring (E, 4.00), t-12
th in par-3 scoring (3.08) and t-15
th in par-5 scoring (4.83).

Abby Livingston, co-held the previous school record score of 217 which she posted twice last season, including at the NAU Red Rocks event last year. In addition, former Trailblazer Haley Dunn was the first to do it during her All-American season in 2014-15. Â
Utah Tech will enjoy a three-week break from competition before returning to Arizona to close the 2022-23 regular season at the Montana State-hosted Bobcat Desert Classic, which will be played April 9-11, at The Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear.
