Chris Pfatenhauer announced his ball club's 2024 schedule on Friday.
The Trailblazers' fourth year of NCAA Division I play features 56 games, including 27 home dates at Bruce Hurst Field, along with match-ups against two 2023 NCAA Regional teams, 11 total games against Power-5 conference schools, and home-and-home games against in-state rivals BYU, Utah, and Utah Valley.
"We are thrilled with our 2024 schedule," Coach Pfatenhauer said. "We continue to play tremendous non-conference opponents and to have the ability to bring some great programs to Bruce Hurst Field is awesome."
Utah Tech will play eight of its first nine games at home, beginning with a four-game series vs. Washington State the weekend of Feb. 16-18. Then following a mid-week road date at 2023 NCAA regional participant Arizona on Feb. 20, the Blazers return home for a three-game series vs. CSUN (Feb. 23-25), and a single game vs. UNLV (Feb. 27).
The Trailblazers will begin March with an eight-game road trip, starting with a three-game series at Wichita State (March 1-3). Utah Tech then head to Stillwater for a pair of games at Big-12 power and 2023 regional participant Oklahoma State (March 5-6), before opening its fourth season of Western Athletic Conference play with a three-game set at UT Arlington (March 8-10).
Utah Tech will open the home portion of its WAC slate one week later with three games vs. Sacramento State (March 15-17), followed by a home mid-week showdown vs. in-state rival BYU (March 19).
Following the BYU home date, Utah Tech will play nine of its next 12 games on the road, starting with a three-game WAC series at Seattle U (March 22-24). The Trailblazers then return to the Beehive State for a Tuesday non-conference game at in-state rival Utah in Salt Lake City (March 26), followed with a three-game conference home series vs. UTRGV (March 28-30).
The Blazers will head back up Interstate 15 to Orem for a three-game WAC set at Utah Valley (April 5-7), and will hit the interstate again two days later for two mid-week games at UNLV (April 9-10).
Utah Tech will close April by playing eight of its next 12 games at home, starting with a three-game WAC series vs. Tarleton (April 12-14). The Trailblazers then travel to Provo for a mid-week return game at BYU (April 15), before heading to Phoenix for a three-game series at defending WAC champion Grand Canyon (April 19-21).
The Trailblazers will close the month with a five-game homestand that features a pair of Monday non-conference dates vs. Nevada (April 22) and UVU (April 29), which bookend a three-game WAC series vs. Abilene Christian (April 26-28).
Utah Tech will open the final month of the regular season by playing seven of its next eight games on the road, starting with a three-game conference series at Stephen F. Austin (May 3-5).
Then after a home mid-week return game vs. Utah (May 7), the Blazers close out their 2023 road slate with a four-game, non-conference series at Cal Poly (May 10-12).
Utah Tech will then wrap up the regular season one week later with a conference home series vs. California Baptist (May 16-18).
The 2024 WAC Baseball Championship Tournament, which will be held May 22-26 at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Ariz.
Utah Tech closed its third NCAA Division I season in 2023 with a 13-39 overall record, which included an 8-22 WAC mark.
