Utah Tech running back Nygel Osborne was named the United Athletic Conference's Freshman of the Week on Monday for his efforts in the Trailblazers' 2023 season finale vs. Southern Utah last Saturday night at Greater Zion Stadium.   
 
Osborne (5-11, 195; Inglewood, Calif./Millikin HS) rushed for a team-high 60 yards on only seven carries (8.6 ypc) and scored both Trailblazer touchdowns on the night.
 
The freshman scored the game's first touchdown on the Trailblazers' opening drive of the game on his first touch of the game from 12-yards out. Then on Utah Tech's first possession of the second half, Osborne rattled off a career long 38-yard run in the third quarter, which he followed up with a 6-yard TD scamper one play later.
