Utah Tech senior linebacker
Dondi Fuller was named United Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in the Trailblazers' 37-31 home win over Stephen F. Austin this past Saturday night.
Fuller (6-0, 215; Belleville, Ill./Belleville HS/NM Highlands/UNLV/Arkansas-Monticello) racked up a career-high 13 tackles, including 11 solo stops and 1.0 tackle-for-loss, to lead a solid Blazer defensive effort.
The senior, who is currently ranked third in the UAC in total tackles (52/8.7 tpg), has recorded eight or more tackles in three of his six games this season with two double-digit tackle outings. Fuller has also registered 4.5 TFLs with one sack, along with two quarterback hurries and one fumble recovery.
Following its bye week this week, Utah Tech (2-4/1-0 UAC) heads back out on the road for a UAC date at North Alabama on Saturday, Oct. 21. Kick-off at Braly Stadium in Florence is set for 5 p.m. (MT).
