Trailblazers continue conference play versus Abilene Christian, New Mexico State

TIP OFF: Utah Tech women's basketball will host Abilene Christian Wednesday, Jan. 11 before hitting the road to take on New Mexico State on Saturday, Jan. 14.


FAST BREAK
•  Utah Tech has a 10-5 overall record on the season and a 2-2 record in WAC action.
•  The Trailblazers are coming off a 79-67 road win over Sam Houston State. UT is currently on a one game winning streak.
•  The Blazers returned four starters from last year.
•  Utah Tech was picked No. 11 in the WAC preseason polls.
•  Head Coach JD Gustin is in his seventh season at the helm of the Trailblazers.


DOUBLE DOUBLE DOWNLOAD: Breaunna Gillen leads the Trailblazers with three double-doubles on the season. She had double-doubles in back-to-back games against Washington and Benedictine Mesa and posted a third against LaVerne with a career high performance of 13 assists.
Washington - 21 pts | 11 asst.
Benedtine Mesa  -17 pts | 10 asst.
LaVerne - 16 points |13 asst.
Lindenwood - 15 points | 13 asst.


Maggie McCord has recorded three double doubles on the season.
LaVerne -16 points | 15 rebounds
Tex. A&M Commerce - 17 points |13 rebounds
Utah Valley - 10 points | 10 rebounds

Emily Isaacson's 12 point, 12 rebound performance against Benedictine Mesa is the only other double double recorded by the Blazers.


ON THE DUSTY TRAIL: Utah Tech has a 77-114 (.404) record on the road since joining the NCAA in 2006-07. Under Head Coach JD Gustin, the Blazers are 25-47 (.347) on the road. The Trailblazers are currently 4-4 on the road this year.


HOME SWEET HOME: Since joining the NCAA ranks in 2006-07, Utah Tech has played to a 128-66 (.658) overall record in the Burns Arena. Under Head Coach JD Gustin, UT is 49-33 (.592) at home which includes the undefeated 5-0 record this season.


THREE WAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Gillen was named WAC Player of the week twice this season.  She earned her first honor when she recorded a double double against PAC-12 foe, Washginton with 21 points and 11 assists and again against Benedictine Mesa, Gillen recorded another double double with 17 points and 10 assists. Her second honor came after a career high performance of 26 points against Utah State. Additionally, Gillen had 23 points against Big XI competition Kansas State.


Macie Warren also earned Player of the Week honors after her career high performance of 29 points against Air Force going 12-16 from the field and 3-5 from beyond the arc. Warren also pulled down eight rebounds and recorded two assists and two steals against Air Force.


GILLEN BECOMES ALL-TIME ASSIST LEADER: Breaunna Gillen has officially become the All-Time Assist Leader in Utah Tech history. She now has 291 career assists. She has
posted 98 assists so far this season.


RECORD BREAKING WIN: Utah Tech set a new standard for greatness against LaVerne on Nov. 26 with 112 points scored. This is the new school record for most points scored
in a game.


Breaunna Gillen also set a new school record as she recorded an impressive 13 assists for most assists in a single game.


IN THE BOOKS: Several Trailblazers have made their way into the record books with their performances so far this season. Breaunna Gillen just broke into the top 10 in alltime scorers in school history with 839 total points. She sits at No. 5 in all time career
field goals made with 323 and No.9 in percentage with a .441. Gillen holds the record
with 291 total assists in her career. Gillen sits at No. 8 in most free throws made with
158.
Emily Isaacson is also in the recordbook at No. 4 for made 3-point field goals with 132 in her career and No. 5 in blocks with 44. She just broke into the top 10 in rebounding with 344 total in her career.
Maggie McCord broke into the top ten in most 3-point field goals made with 91 total.


IN THE WAC: Several Trailblazers have made their way into the top of WAC stat standings.
