Utah Tech volleyball fell in three sets to Grand Canyon on senior night.
What head coach Camilla Hafoka said: GCU is a good team. I thought we fought in the match but need to learn how to continue fighting until the end of the match
How it happened: The Trailblazers started the first set hanging close to GCU and managed a tie score at 10-10. GCU captured the momentum with an 8-3 run that sent them to a 25-19 win over Utah Tech.
In the second set Utah Tech started off with all the momentum jumping out to 4-0 lead and later a 9-4 lead. Then the Lopes went on a 13-1 run and later finished out the second set, scoring the Trailblazers 7-3 for a 25-17 second set win.
Utah Tech started the third set off strong hanging with GCU and had a narrow 9-8 lead. Grand Canyon took control and powered through for a 25-16 third set win and match win.
Killin' it: Utah Tech was led by Bridgett Talia who had seven kills from 16 attacks with three errors for a .250 hitting percentage. Whittnee Nihipali and Hannah Howard each added six kills while Nihipali ended the match with a .375 hitting percentage.

Mykenna Nelson who recorded 12 digs in the match. In total, UT had 34 digs on the night.
Notes to know: Utah Tech is now 10-11 overall on the season and 4-8 in WAC action.
