Dixie State softball will continue the 2021 season with a five game weekend at Karl Brooks Field. DSU will take on Weber State, Northern Colorado and Utah State.

DIVISION I DEBUT:
Dixie State is entering its first season as a Division I program. DSU is part of the Western Athletic Conference. In the first game of DI action, the Trailblazers faced No. 2 Washington and fail narrowly with a 5-4 score.

CONSISTENT SPOT:
Meagan Anders, Shea Clements, Kirsten Quigley, Hannah Hughbanks, Mikaela Thomson and Malory Eldredge have all been a consistent spot for Dixie State with all six of them starting in all 10 games for the Trailblazers.

DOUBLE DOWN ON D:
Dixie State has had seven double plays on the year. Most recently against Utah State, the Aggies had a runner on first. The next batter hit a hard line drive at shortstop Kirsten Quigley who then picked the runner off on first for an inning ending double play. Later in the game USU had a runner on first and the No. 4 batter in the lineup came up and hit a hard grounder at Meagan Anders on second who quickly threw the ball to Quigley waiting on two who turned it to Mikaela Thomson on first for the Trailblazers second double play of the game.

ALL-TIME VS.
Weber State: This week's game marks the fifth meeting between Dixie State and Weber State. The teams first met in 2011  here in St. Georege. The last time the teams met up was in 2012. DSU is undefeated against the Wildcats with a 4-0 record in the series.

Utah State: This week's game marks the second meeting between Dixie State and Utah State. The teams first met just last week here in St. Georege. DSU has a 0-1 record in the series.

Northern Colorado: This week's game will be the first game against Northern Colorado in school history.

Weber State enters the game with a 4-6 overall record so far on the season. The Wildcats are currently No. 2 in the Big Sky Conference.  Junior Lauren Hoe is reigning Big Sky Player of the Week and averages .321 on the season with two doubles and three home runs from 28 at bats. Utah State State enters the game with a 2-7 overall record so far on the season. Northern Colorado enters the weekend with a 2-2 overall record so far on the season.
