SB – Nine Trailblazers earn Academic All-RMAC Honors

Carissa Burgess named to Academic All-RMAC first team; Eight others on RMAC Honor Roll

Sophomore pitcher Carissa Burgess was named to the Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference first team on Wednesday to highlight a list of nine Dixie State softball players who earned Academic All-RMAC honors.
 
Burgess, who currently holds a 3.98 GPA as a marketing major, led the RMAC in wins with a 10-2 record when the remainder of the 2020 season was canceled. Burgess was one of 11 student-athletes across the conference to receive first team honors.
 
Eight other Trailblazers were named to the RMAC Honor Roll, including sophomore catcher Lindsay Altfillisch (3.83 GPA, biology major), redshirt freshman pitcher Ashtyn Bauerle (3.41 GPA, recreation and sport management major), senior outfielder Brenna Cornwall (3.65 GPA, biology major), sophomore outfielder Kasey Crawford (3.73 GPA,  general studies), senior catcher Destiny Diaz (3.64 GPA, exercise science major), redshirt sophomore outfielder Malory Eldredge (3.64 GPA, biology major), senior first baseman Kori Gahn (3.71 GPA, elementary education major), and junior infielder Emma Sweet (3.80 GPA, finance major).
 
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
