Women’s Tennis completes weekend sweep Sunday with 6-1 defeat of Holy Names

The Dixie State women's tennis team completed a weekend sweep of its three matches in the Trailblazer Invitational on Sunday with a 6-1 defeat of Holy Names at the DSU Tennis Courts.
 
The Trailblazers (6-3) claimed the doubles point over the short-handed Hawks with a win at No. 2 doubles. Katelyn Longson and Sabrina Longson earned the point with a 6-3 victory at No. 2, while Holy Names defaulted at the No. 3 position to wrap up doubles play.
 
Dixie State took a 2-0 lead into singles play as the Hawks also defaulted at No. 6 singles. Emma Templeman earned the first DSU point in singles play as her opponent was forced to pull out of the match. Sabrina Longson then cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 sweep at No. 5, while Juliana Honczaruk claimed a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 3. Katelyn Longson wrapped up the match with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 4.
 
The Trailblazers will host Southern Utah in an exhibition match on March 10 before traveling to Colorado for three matches later in the month.
