Trailblazer Softball season opener canceled due to weather

Games canceled after heavy rain Monday night and more in the forecast for Tuesday

The Dixie State softball season openers against Hawai'i Hilo and Central Washington have been canceled due to large amounts of rain falling overnight, rendering the playing surface at Karl Brooks Field unplayable.

With more rain in the forecast over the next 24 hours, the canceled games will not be rescheduled.

The Trailblazers will officially open the 2019 season on Thursday at the Courtyard Classic at the Canyons Softball Complex. Dixie State will lead off at the tournament against Western New Mexico on Thursday at 3 p.m. DSU will take on MSU Billings (12:30 p.m.) and Cal State East Bay (3 p.m.) on Friday, before closing play on Saturday vs. Hawai'i Pacific (12:30 p.m.) and Western Washington (3 p.m.).
