Trailblazers Notch Record Draw in Scoreless Stalemate at Fort Lewis on Sunday

Dixie State came away with its program record fourth draw of the 2019 season after a scoreless stalemate at Fort Lewis Sunday afternoon at Dirks Field.

The Trailblazers (6-3-4/4-2-3 RMAC) put up 21 total shots, 11 of which were on frame, but the team could not find the back of the net. Seven of DSU's 11 shots on goal came after halftime, including Kilee Allsop and Kelsey Cook chances in the second overtime period, however FLC goalkeeper Katie Dunbabin (11 saves) managed to turn away both potential game-winning attempts.

Dixie State's defense was just as stout, limiting the Skyhawks (3-6-3/2-4-3 RMAC) to only 12 total attempts, six on frame. Junior netminder Adelle Brown finished with a career-high five saves on the day, and the defense picked up another team save, as the Trailblazers posted their fifth clean sheet of the season.

DSU's fourth tie on Sunday broke the previous record of three, which was set during the 2011 campaign (7-8-3), and was just the 16th draw in the program's NCAA era (248 matches).

Dixie State returns home next weekend for its final two home matches of the 2019 regular season. The Trailblazers begin Homecoming Weekend with a showdown vs. New Mexico Highlands on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m., before hosting CSU-Pueblo on Senior Day Sunday, Oct. 27, at 1:30 p.m.
