Former DSU LB Robert Metz set to join IFL’s Green Bay Blizzard

Former Dixie State linebacker Robert Metz is set to join the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League for the team's final three games of the 2017 season.

Metz was a two-time all-Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) honorable mention selection who finished the 2015 season second on the team with 64 total tackles and one sack. He set the Dixie State single-game record with 19 tackles in his final collegiate game at Central Washington on Nov. 14, 2015. Metz also posted the eighth-best single season mark for tackles with 91 in 2014, and completed his four-year career at DSU ranked second all-time in total tackles with 217.

Following his time at Dixie State, Metz played nine games for the Lubeck Cougars in Lubeck, Germany, where he finished the 2016 season with 70 tackles (four for loss), one interception, and one fumble-recovery touchdown.

Metz will join the team in Green Bay this week in preparation for a Friday evening matchup with the Iowa Barnstormers in Des Moines, Iowa.
