The Dixie State football team closes the 2017 season on Saturday at Fort Lewis in Durango, Colorado. Kickoff is set for Noon Mountain Time at Ray Dennison Memorial Field.

Live audio coverage is scheduled on radio (ESPN 97.7) and internet (SportsRadio977.com), with Keric Seegmiller providing play-by-play.

ALL-TIME VS. FORT LEWIS: Saturday's game marks the third meeting between Fort Lewis and Dixie State on the gridiron. The teams first met in the Dixie Rotary Bowl in St. George on Dec. 2, 2006. Fort Lewis rallied for a 24-14 victory, after trailing 14-3 at halftime, to claim the victory. The Trailblazers earned their first win in the series last year in a 16-14 thriller at Legend Solar Stadium, clinching their first winning season in the process. The overall series is tied at 1-1. Saturday's game marks the first time the teams will meet in Durango, Colorado.

KNOW YOUR FOE: Fort Lewis enters the game with a 5-5 overall record and a 5-4 mark in RMAC play. With a win on Saturday, the Skyhawks can clinch their first winning season since 2015, and just their second winning season in the last 10 years. Using a balance of run (179.0 ypg) and pass (127.8 ypg), FLC averages 306.8 yards per game on offense. Freshman quarterback Jake Lowry has started the last two games for the Skyhawks, completing 18-of-42 passes for 221 yards and three touchdowns in those starts. Tyler Telphy leads the rushing attack, accumulating 702 yards and five touchdowns on 122 carries. Mason Hatton (31 receptions, 304 yards, TD) and Arealous Hughes (25 receptions, 373 yards, 2 TD) have been the team's favorite targets in the passing game.

Defensively, the Skyhawks concede 377.9 yards (234.6 pass/143.3 rush) of total offense per game. Linebacker Darrian Stickney leads the team with 89 tackles (10.0 for loss) and 1.5 sacks, while defensive back Donell Pleasant III has logged a team-high four interceptions.

MAKING THE GRADE: Junior defensive lineman Remington Kelly (Bountiful, Utah/Bountiful HS) (3.53 GPA) was named to the RMAC All-Academic Team last week. Eight other Trailblazers landed on the RMAC Honor Roll, including Blake Barney (St. George, Utah/Dixie HS) (3.61), Hunter Christensen (West Jordan, Utah/West Jordan HS) (3.92), Brad Duran (Corona, Calif./Santiago HS) (3.70), Beda Galleta (San Diego, Calif./Mater Dei HS) (3.68), Isaiah Jones (Provo, Utah/Provo HS) (3.76), Braden Petersen (Draper, Utah/Alta HS) (3.46), Austin Warhop (3.50), and A.J. Yergensen (St. George, Utah/Desert Hills HS) (3.89).

MAKING HISTORY: Senior linebacker Noe Perez (Santa Ana, Calif./Los Amigo HS) tied the DSU single-game record with three sacks at Western State on September 30. Perez matched the effort first recorded by Nick Rocco at Central Washington in 2010. As a team, Dixie State exploded for 620 yards of total offense in a 54-28 win over Adams State on October 28, marking the third-most yards in a single game in DSU's NCAA Division II era.

CHASING HISTORY: Sophomore running back Sei-J Lauago (Paramount, Calif./La Mirada HS) has rushed for 734 yards and five touchdowns on 121 carries during the 2017 season, placing him at No. 5 on the DSU single-season rushing list. Lauago is just 139 yards off the top spot (DeJon Coleman (Los Angeles, Calif./Arleta HS) – 873 yards, 2016). Additionally, Lauago currently sits atop the DSU single-season rushing yards per game list, averaging 104.9 yards per game in 2017.

LEADING THE LEAGUE: Through 10 games Dixie State leads the RMAC in fourth-down conversions (7-11, 63.6 %). The Trailblazers rank second in pass defense (165.5 yards per game) and defensive pass efficiency (158-313-12, 11 TD, 102.8 efficiency rating).
