Dixie State suffered its first loss of the young season Thursday afternoon as Humboldt State outlasted the Storm in overtime, 1-0, in Arcata, Calif. DSU fell to 2-1-0 overall, while the Lumberjacks improved to 2-2-0.
The Storm, which entered the match with two shutouts victories in tow, held the Humboldt scoreless through 90 minutes of regulation play. However the Lumberjacks were able to solve the Storm defense in the 96
th minute as Bridget Daley tucked home the sudden-victory goal after recovering a loose ball inside the six-yard box after a Humboldt corner kick.
HSU outshot Dixie State 17-10, including a 7-4 edge on goal. DSU forward
