ST. GEORGE, Utah - Coming off of back-to-back wins, the Dixie State women's basketball team hosts three schools from Hawaii beginning Thursday and over the Presidents Day Weekend.
Dixie State (7-14, 6-9) take on Chaminade (5-13, 5-9) Thursday. Dixie State's Hall of Fame class of Ralph Brinton (Football), Barry Sims (Football), Brandon Lyon (Baseball) and the 2000 women's soccer team will be honored at halftime.
On Saturday the Red Storm play Hilo (7-10, 6-7) and will be the Play4Kay game. The team will wear pink warm up shirts and socks to support the fight against cancer and the Kay You Cancer Foundation.
Monday the team hosts Hawaii Pacific (18-4, 13-2) to conclude the visitors from Hawaii.
STORM STORYLINES
- Jenny Thigpin was officially named the head coach, removing the interim tag from her title on Jan. 22
- Dixie State will be having a "Think Pink" game on Feb. 14 against Hilo in support of the fight against breast cancer. The team will sport pink socks and fans are encouraged to wear pink.
- Taylor Mann (Castle Dale, UT/Emery) earned PacWest Player of the Week Honors for games Feb 2-8. She averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds for the week. Mann is close to a double-double average with 10.9 points and 9.4 rebounds.
- Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) moved up to No. 6 in the PacWest in scoring with 14.7 points per game. She is Dixie State's career leader in 3-pointers made with 189.
- Freshman Tianna Dougher (Bountiful, UT/Bountiful) came off the bench to record her first double-double with 10 points and 12 boards vs. NDNU.
