ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Dixie State women's basketball team continues it's road stretch with three games around the San Francisco Bay area over an extended weekend.
The Red Storm (5-12, 4-7) travel to San Rafael, Calif. first to take on Dominican (8-9, 5-6) on Thursday, Jan. 29. Next up is Academy of Art (11-8, 6-5) in San Francisco on Saturday, Jan. 31 and then Monday, Feb. 2 the team will finish the road trip in Oakland at Holy Names (2-17, 1-10). All games are set to begin at 6:30 p.m. MT.
STORM STORYLINES
-Jenny Thigpin was officially named the head coach, removing the interim tag from her title on Jan. 22.
-Dixie State has already taken on Holy Names and Academy of Art this season. The Red Storm defeated Holy Names 82-66 but fell to the Urban Knights 70-67. Both games are in the Burns Arena.
-Point guard Leslie Tademy (Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain) is No. 4 in the PacWest with 4.8 assists per game. Tademy is also No. 3 in assist to turnover ratio (1.5).
-Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) is No. 10 in the PacWest in scoring with 14.2 points per game. She is Dixie State's career leader in 3-pointers made with 176.
-Taylor Mann (Castle Dale, UT/Emery) is No. 8 in league in rebounding at 9.2, and No. 6 in blocks per game with 1.3. She averages nearly a double-double per game, with 10.6 points as well.
