ST. GEORGE, Utah - In its longest road trip of the season, Dixie State women's basketball travels to the Hawaiian Islands for three games over the next week.

The Red Storm (4-7, 3-2) take on UH-Hilo (2-6, 1-2), Chaminade (0-7, 0-3) and BYU-Hawaii (5-4, 2-1). The trip starts off with a stop on the Big Island to face the Vulcans at 8 p.m. MT (5 p.m. HT) on Friday, Jan. 3. Next up is Chaminade on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at 8 p.m. MT and the trip finishes with the Seasiders on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 8 p.m. MT.

Dixie State just dropped a heartbreaker to one of the PacWest's top teams, Academy of Art on Saturday in a 70-67 loss. The Red Storm led by as many as 11 but couldn't hang on as the Urban Knights rallied to stay unbeaten in league play.

STORM STORYLINES

-Dixie State  embarks on Hawaiian voyage to take on three Island teams: Hilo, Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii. Last season's Hawaii trip was a success with a 3-0 record against the Vulcans, Silverswords and Hawaii Pacific. 

-Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) is Dixie State's career Division II leader in 3-point field goals made with 161 and counting. She passed Sheila Adams earlier this year (133).

-The two Taylors (Mann and Maynes) are averaging 20.0 points and 17.0 rebounds between the two of them. Mann has four double-doubles this season, including two 20+ points and 10+ rebound games. Maynes has two double-doubles this year.

-Mann put in a career-best 26 points to go along with 19 rebounds in the Red Storm's last outing.

-BYU-Hawaii's Celeste Claw leads the PacWest in assists per game at 7.4 while DSU's Leslie Tademy (Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain) is dishing out 5.5 for third.
