Red Storm back home for weekend PacWest showdown

ST. GEORGE, Utah - Dixie State women's volleyball team has won six matches in a row and is undefeated in PacWest play. DSU hosts Azusa Pacific and Point Loma on Friday and Saturday at the Student Activities Center.

The Red Storm will take on Azusa Pacific (7-6, 4-1) Friday at 5 p.m. MT in the Student Activities Center (Old Gym). Saturday, Dixie State will battle Point Loma at 12 noon MT in the Student Activities Center. DSU has been on a roll lately and just went 3-0 on a road trip to Northern California.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL STORYLINES

PERFECT IN PACWEST PLAY
Through five league matches Dixie State remains undefeated. The Red Storm's competition gets even tougher this weekend, facing Azusa Pacific who has just one loss in the PacWest, and Point Loma who is also unbeaten.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Maddie Rex (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) and Alex Anderson (Prescott, AZ/Prescott) both received PacWest honors this week for matches played Sept. 22-28. Rex was named the Player of the Week while Anderson earned Defender of the Week. Rex logged 37 kills, averaging 3.7 kills per set, and a .354 hitting percentage over three matches while Anderson recorded 66 digs, averaging 6.60 digs per set.

AZUSA PACIFIC and POINT LOMA
Azusa Pacific has won four of its last five matches, including three straight. The Cougars are coming off a five-set victory over Dominican on Saturday. Point Loma, the preseason pick to win the PacWest, has won five straight to begin conference play. The Sea Lions take on Cal Baptist on Thursday before heading to St. George.
