ST. GEORGE, Utah - The Dixie State women's volleyball team has built some momentum after two weekend sweeps and will look to stay unbeaten in Pacific West Conference play with three league matches on the road.
The Red Storm visit the state of California to take on Holy Names on Thursday at 8 p.m. MT, Academy of Art Friday at 8:30 p.m. MT, and Notre Dame de Namur Saturday at 8 p.m. MT. Visit the schedule page for links to follow the action live.#DIXIEVB Week 4 NotesWOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL STORYLINESSWEEP CITY:Â Dixie State was able to handle Notre Dame de Namur and Dominican last weekend with relative ease, sweeping both schools. The Red Storm faced some tough sets to get there, but were able to down each opponent in straight sets to have an early finish each match.
TOP-20 LEADERS:Â Junior Edithza Urias (Bakersfield, CA/Golden Valley) leads the team in total kills with 113 this season to rank 11th in the PacWest. Dixie State has spread the wealth in kills, with four players including Urias in the to 20 of the PacWest in total kills. Along with Urias, Nicole Koehler (Sandy, UT/Alta) is 14th with 96, Kendahl Weiland (Albany, OR/West Albany) is No. 16 with 95 and Maddie Rex (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) has 86 kills, good for No. 19. DSU is the only team with four in the top 20.
HOLY NAMES, ACADEMY OF ART, NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR:Â Holy Names is still looking for it's first win of the season after an 0-9 start. Academy of Art is playing well, setting at 6-3 and 1-0 in conference play. Dixie State just defeated NDNU last week, and the Argos are still hungry for their first win of the season as well at 0-8.
