ST. GEORGE, Utah – After a crazy weekend of weather and rescheduling games on a road trip to Southern California, Dixie State returns home for our four game series with No. 3 California Bapist. The games on March 1 scheduled with CBU were rescheduled to Friday of this week in St George, due to rain. Live stats of each game will be available via DixieAtheltics.com.

NFCA Rankings
This weeks poll had the Red Storm maintain its spot at No. 22 and fellow PWC member California Baptist catapulted into the ranking at No. 9 last week and jumped to No. 3 in this week, despite both teams splitting this past week with Azusa Pacific.

PacWest Breakdown
Not having to make the long journey to the islands this season, the difficult part of DSU's PacWest schedule is packed into the first three weeks. The Red Storm will have played all their games against Hawaii Pacific, Azusa Pacific, and California Baptist.

Dixie State (13-4, 4-2 PWC)
For the second straight week the Red Storm split a pair of games with Azusa Pacific. DSU continues to try and plan to be without their ace Michelle Duncan (Gilbert, AZ/Gilbert High School) (hip flexor/quad) for the third straight week.

Marla Reiter (Rolinda, CA/Central High School) was electric in the APU series, with several RBI and extra base hits, including a home run.

Aryn Feickert (Lancaster, CA/Highland ) (5-2, 2.86 ERA) filled in nicely for Duncan, picking up a 4-2 win in the opener over the Cougars. Batters continue to be perplexed by her pitching and are hitting just .207 against her. Duncan (5-1, 1.54 ERA) is still questionable this weekend and if she cannot pitch will need to rely on Mattie Snow (Tooele, UT/Tooele High School) (3-1, 3.32 ERA) and Brooklyn Beardshear (Tucson, AZ/Sahuaro) (0-0, 6.18 ERA) to assist Feickert.

DSU continues to hit the ball well by hitting over .364 as a team and just two players hitting over .400. Reiter leads the team in average (.460) and RBI (21), and leads the home run race with four. Bailee Freeland (Ogden, UT/Bonneville High School) (.444) is the other Red Storm above .400.

Simkins Era and Karl Brooks Field
The Storm are 122-39 (.760) in the D2 era at Karl Brooks Field, with their best season coming in 2011 when they finished 19-1. Coach Randy Simkins current record in six seasons is 211-63 (.768).

California Baptist (18-5, 9-3 PWC)
The Lancers have had winning streaks of four, five and six games and have earned the respect in the West Region that they deserve. They split for the season the series with Azusa Pacific. Krista Mann leads CBU in hitting with a .451 average and adds 24 RBI. She also shares the home run lead (7) with August Marshean who leads the team in RBI with 25 leads the team and bats .429.The squad is hitting .339 as a team and has drawn 82 walks on the season.

CBU has two pitchers, Belinda Renne (12-2, 2.93 ERA) and Kayla Hatch (6-3, 4.36 ERA), not unbeatable numbers but have show that they can get the job done.
