LAS VEGAS - Dixie State women's basketball will be hosting the Las Vegas Challenge at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 17 and 18.
The women's side of the tournament will feature Dixie State, Holy Names, Western Oregon and Seattle Pacific. The Red Storm (3-4, 2-1) take on Seattle Pacific at 5 p.m. PT on Wednesday and then on Thursday face Western Oregon at 5 p.m. PT. Holy Names takes on Western Oregon at 12 p.m. PT on Wednesday, and the Hawks play Seattle Pacific on Thursday in the early game at noon.
Dixie State will head back to St. George to take on Holy Names in a PacWest conference matchup on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 1:00 p.m. MT.
STORM STORYLINES
-Dixie State hosts the Las Vegas Challenge, featuring Seattle Pacific, Western Oregon and Holy Names. The Red Storm won't play Holy Names in Las Vegas but will host the Hawks in a PacWest matchup in St. George on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 1 p.m. MT.
-Kaylah Miller (San Diego, CA/La Jolla Country Day) is Dixie State's career Division II leader in 3-point field goals made with 154 and counting. She passed Sheila Adams earlier this year (133).
-The two Taylors (Mann and Maynes) are averaging 19.5 points and 15.8 rebounds between the two of them.
-The Red Storm also have three of the top rebounders in the league. Maynes is No. 10 with 8.4, Mann pulls down 7.4 and Haileigh Emerine (Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork) averages 7.0.
-Leslie Tademy (Phoenix, AZ/South Mountain) is third in PacWest averaging 5.7 assists per game. She is also No. 3 in assist/turnover radio at 1.6.
