ST. GEORGE, Utah – Despite outshooting the visiting Hawks on Saturday, the Dixie State men's soccer team could not find the net for the third consecutive match. Holy Names scored twice in the opening half en route to a 3-0 Pacific West Conference win at Hansen Stadium.

Dixie State fell to 1-9-1 on the year and 1-6 in league.

"[This is] another tough loss," DSU head coach
Danny Ortiz (Las Vegas, NV/Cimarron) said. "We should have been up a couple of goals early in the match. The team continues to play hard and I'm proud of the way we fought to the final whistle."

Those early opportunities presented four DSU shots in the opening 15 minutes.
Jorge Echavarria (Las Vegas, NV/Sierra Vista) and
Alex Galvan (San Antonio, TX/Reagan) each fired toward the frame in the first two minutes of the match.

The Hawks (3-9/1-5) scored in the 27
th minute thanks to PacWest Preseason Player of the Year, Jaime Phillips. Radley Arnold added insurance in the final minute of the first half for HNU to lead 2-0. Alfredo Castaneda posted an unassisted goal in the 79
th minute.

DSU won the shot battle, 15-12, with Echavarria leading the way with four shots.
Spencer Anderson (Glendale, AZ/Mountain View) made three saves in goal for the Storm.

The Red Storm begin their final road trip of the year on Thursday, Oct. 23 at Azusa Pacific.
