Dixie State (13-6, 10-1) topped the Vulcans (4-10, 3-8) to finish up the road swing winning three out of four matches. Maddie Rex (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) added 13 kills and Lindsey Jones (Saint George, UT/Desert Hills) had four aces.

The Red Storm raced out to an early lead in the first set at 10-3. Hilo defended the home gym however and pulled off a 6-0 run late to cut the lead to just 23-20. A kill by Rex and a Vulcan error gave Dixie State a 25-20 opening set victory.

The third set was close the entire way with neither team getting much seperation in the back-and-forth match. Finally, the Red Storm took three out of the last four points to edge Hilo 25-21 and take the match lead 2-1.

Neither team in the fourth set led by as much as four and the lead changed seven different times. Dixie State trailed 16-12 and battled with an 8-2 run to take a 20-18 advantage. The Vulcans came right back and retook it 22-20, capitalizing on Red Storm errors.

DSU evened it up again at 22-22, fell behind, and then fought back to 26-26. A Hilo error and big block at the net by Jones and Shelby Sorenson (Lehi, UT/Lehi) finished off the Vulcans 28-26 and secured a 3-1 win.
