VB: Red Storm Win Again, Defeat Urban Knights in Four Games

Maddie Rex leads with 14 kills

Box Score SAN FRANCISCO -- Maddie Rex (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) and Kendahl Weiland (Albany, OR/West Albany) helped the Dixie State women's volleyball team remain undefeated in Pacific West Conference play tonight with a 15-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22 win over Academy of Art University.

Rex finished with a match high 14 kills and Weiland added 12 kills, the second night in a row the two have finished in double digits.

"Weiland and Rex were key as well, they played excellent defense," said head coach Robyn Felder. "I am really proud of the girls, they came through and played the best volleyball they have of the road trip tonight."

Tonight's match concluded the four match in five days road trip for DSU. This marks the best start for the Red Storm (7-3/4-0 PWC) since the 2009 season when they finished 18-7 overall and 12-4 in PWC play.

Shelby Sorenson (Lehi, UT/Lehi) continued to impress, collecting 37 assists as a setter and Rex added 17 digs and libero Alex Anderson (Prescott, AZ/Prescott) added 16 digs.

Felder concluded, "Moving forward, this trip gave us so much confidence and momentum."

The Red Storm host Fresno Pacific in the Student Activities Center on Saturday at noon.
