VB: Red Storm Defeat Holy Names in PacWest Opener

Box Score OAKLAND, Calif. -- The Dixie State volleyball team started their 2013 Pacific West Confernce season on the right note tonight by defeating Holy Names University in four games 23-25,25-18,25-10,25-18,

Leading the way for DSU was Kendahl Weiland (Albany, OR/West Albany) and Maddie Rex (Tucson, AZ/Sabino) with 10-15 kills each. Alex Anderson (Prescott, AZ/Prescott) led DSU in digs.

"We were very efficient tonight," said head coach Robyn Felder. "Rex played great, it was just what we needed."

The Red Storm improved to 4-3 overall and 1-0 in the PacWest, while Holy Names dropped to 0-10 overall and 0-1 in PWC play.

Dixie State makes the short trip across the bay for an early eveing battle with Notre Dame de Namur at 6 p.m. mountain time.
