BELMONT, Calif. – Charles Dickens could have described the events of Koret Field on Thursday. Using poetic license to its fullest, it was "A Tale of Two Halves".

The Dixie State women's soccer team out shot Notre Dame de Namur nine to five in the opening half, but saw the host Argos pepper 17 attempts in the second half. Three NDNU shot found the back of the net helping the home team secure a 3-0 win in Pacific West Conference play.

Dixie State dropped to 1-3-1 on the year and 1-1-0 in the PacWest, while the Argonauts evened their season record and tallied a win in their conference opener (3-3-0, 1-0-0 PacWest).

Junior forward Jennifer Mason (Springville, UT/Springville) took nearly half of the Red Storm's shots in the opening 45 minutes. Two shots hit the post, evading Dixie State from scoring in the first half. Stacie Gubler (Las Vegas, NV/Palo Verde) made saves on both shots she saw in goal.

In the second half, on the other hand, NDNU turned the proverbial tables and fired multiple shots toward DSU goalie Cecilee Horlacher (St. George, UT/Snow Canyon). The Argos took a 1-0 lead three minutes into the second half on an unassisted goal from Adriana Cortes, her sixth goal on the year.

Then in a span of just under three minutes, NDNU ballooned the lead to 3-0. Cheyenne Kisthardt dribbled a through ball past Horlacher in the 65th minute and Marisa Schneider cashed in a cross just inside the post for the three-goal advantage.

Amy Rich saved all five shots she faced in the first half Kelsee Berryman completed the combined shutout with six saves.

Mason led all players with eight shots, including three on goal. Ashley Wade (Saint George, UT/Pine View) put all three of her attempts on goal, as well.

Dixie State concludes their longest road trip of the year on Saturday at 10 a.m. Pacific with a match at Dominican.
