SATURDAY NIGHT MATCHUP IN SO CAL

Dixie State makes its final trip away from Hansen Stadium on Nov. 9, for a GNAC meeting with current conference leading Azusa Pacific at Citrus Stadium in Glendora, Calif. Saturday's game will kick at 6:30 p.m. Pacific (7:30 p.m. Mountain) with radio coverage on ESPN SportsRadio 106.1 FM with John Potter calling the play-by-play action.

RED STORM VS. THE COUGARS

The Cougars lead the series, dating back to 2006, by a 5-3 margin. APU took this season's first matchup in week two, 36-20. Both teams took a game in 2012 on the other's home field. DSU took the early GNAC meeting on Sept. 15 with a 24-22 win at Citrus Stadium. A fumble recovery and touchdown runback from Ray Chapman (Compton, CA/Compton) sealed the 10-point fourth quarter comeback. In week 10, the Cougars returned the favor scoring nine points in the final quarter to upend the Storm 23-21.

LAST MEETING WITH APU

Terrell Watson rushed for 165 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead the Cougars to a 16-point win at Saint George ... Watson gave the Cougars an early 6-0 lead breaking away for a 54-yard touchdown on the fourth offensive play of the game surpassing the 2,000-yard career rushing barrier in the process. Dixie scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns as Brody Garr (Taylor, UT/Fremont) came off the bench to toss 24 and 17-yard TD passes to tight end Joe Don Duncan (Corona, CA/Notre Dame) and Antonio Morton (Seattle, WA/Ballard) ... Dixie quarterbacks Griff Robles (Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork) (17-30-1, 212) and Garr (13-19-0, 155) combined for 367 passing yards.  The Red Storm, however, rushed for only 13 yards and were outgained by Azusa 391-380.   DSU's Myles Burton (Berkeley, CA/Rodriguez) (68 yards) and Duncan (63) each had five receptions ... Dixie linebacker Jake Duncan (Corona, CA/Notre Dame) led all tacklers with a total of 14.

FREI RECORDS RECEPTION TD HAT TRICK IN WIN AT SFU

Quarterback Griff Robles (Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork) passed for 200 or more yards for the ninth game in a row as the Red Storm leveled their conference record at 4-4 with a seven-point win at Terry Fox Field ... Robles, who also led his team in rushing with 75 yards on 11 carries, completed 16 of 36 passes for 319 yards and five touchdowns ... He tossed TD passes of 10 and three yards to Mitch Frei (Santa Clara, UT/Snow Canyon) in the opening period.  Later he hooked up with tight end Joe Don Duncan (Corona, CA/Notre Dame) for a 22-yard reception in the second quarter.  Frei then scored his third touchdown of the game in the third quarter on a 49-yard catch.  Duncan scored again with 5:12 left in the game on a 16-yard pass to snap a 28-28 tie after SFU had tied the game on a 70-yard punt return by Earl Anderson ... Robles has thrown for 300 or more yards in three of his last four games, averaging 350.3 yards (1401) in that stretch. Going back to last season, he has thrown for 200 or more yards in 14 of his last 15 games, missing that milestone only in DSU's 2012 final game when he passed for 150 yards against Central Washington ... Frei finished the game with eight catches for 184 yards.  Duncan had six receptions for 120 yards ... Dixie outgained Simon Fraser 424 to 364 in total offense, including 324-232 passing ... Linebacker Nick Largent (Escalon, CA/Escalon) led DSU's defense with 10 tackles.  Linebacker Jake Duncan (Corona, CA/Notre Dame) had nine tackles.

NOTABLES FROM THE SFU GAME:

• Griff Robles (Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork) threw for 5 TDs for the second time in his career - both times have come against the Simon Fraser defense

• Daniel Moffett (Kaysville, UT/Davis) and Zac Christian (Plain City, UT/Fremont) each recorded their fourth INTs of the year. Moffett in the second

quarter and Christian late in the fourth.

• Mitch Frei (Santa Clara, UT/Snow Canyon) has the longest current streak of catching a TD in four straight games. The longest streak

is six games from Joe Don Duncan (Corona, CA/Notre Dame) in weeks 1-6.

A WIN BY DIXIE STATE WOULD...

• Be the second season consecutive win over APU at Cirtus Stadium.

• Be the first three-game win streak in DSU Division-II history.

• Put the Storm at a .500 record with one game to play.

• Be the 3rd win in the month of November since the NCAA D-II transition in 2006; DSU is 2-11 in

November games
