HANSEN STADIUM CLASH WITH THE CLAN
Dixie State, fresh off breaking an eight-game losing skid, returns home for a Great Northwest Athletic Conference matchup with one of the league's four co-leader, the Clan of Simon Fraser University. The Oct. 5 contest will kickoff from Hansen Stadium at 6:05 p.m. MT. The game will be broadcast via radio coverage on ESPN SportsRadio 106.1 FM (John Potter, Devin Dixon, Patrick Blake) and on CEC-TV (Ryan Forsey, Justin Forman). Live online coverage for audio and video can be accessed at DixieAthletics.com/Showcase.

RED STORM VS. THE CLAN
The all-time series against Simon Fraser is knotted up at three games apiece, each team owning a three-game winning streak. Dixie State won the first trio of meetings (28-21, 18-15, 42-7), including twice at Hansen Stadium. Since then, the Clan has won the last three meetings. SFU tallied a 62-56 win in triple overtime on Oct. 8, 2011, to notch their first win in the GNAC. SFU took the 2012 series with a 41-28 win in Burnaby and a 58-47 shootout victory last October at Hansen Stadium. Despite the loss in the last game against the Clan, Griff Robles (Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork) threw for 339 yards and five TDs.

A WIN AS BIG AS THE SEQUOIA TREES THEMSELVES
Quarterback Griff Robles (Spanish Fork, UT/Spanish Fork) had 401 yards in total offense and accounted for six touchdowns leading the Red Storm to a 49-24 road win at Humboldt State before a Homecoming crowd of 6,603 ...  Robles completed 22 of 46 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns and also rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns.  He scored on runs of 1, 1 and 12 yards and tossed TD passes of eight yards to Mitch Frei (Santa Clara, UT/Snow Canyon), 26 yards to Joel Davis (Natchez, MS/Natchez) and 17 to Joe Don Duncan (Corona, CA/Notre Dame) ...All but the Duncan six-pointer came in the first half as the Red Storm built a 42-10 lead.  Dixie finished the contest with 558 yards in total offense compared to 331 by the Lumberjacks, outgaining Humboldt 275-145 on the ground and 283-186 through the air ... In addition to Robles, Davis rushed for 87 yards on 10 carries and Myles Burton (Berkeley, CA/Rodriguez) had 69 on 12 carries.  Duncan had six catches for 91 yards and Frei had 76 on four catches ... Dixie State's defense came up with five takeaways, including a GNAC-record tying three interceptions (for 56 yards) by strong safety Daniel Moffett (Kaysville, UT/Davis).  Moffett, who also had four tackles and broke up a pass, is the sixth player in GNAC history to record three interceptions in a single game ...  Linebacker Nick Largent (Escalon, CA/Escalon) led the Red Storm with seven tackles.  Defensive end Jake Miller (Tremonton, UT/Bear River) had six tackles, including three for losses of 10 yards.  Two of those were sacks for losses of nine yards.

NOTABLES FROM THE HSU GAME
Twenty-eight points scored in the 2nd quarter is the highest single total for any DSU quarter in the D-II era (the four highest scoring quarters have all come against HSU) ... The 25-point margin of victory against the Jacks was the largest since a 42-7 win over this weekend's opponent, Simon Fraser, on Sept. 17, 2011 ... Four QB sacks tied for the fourth-best team performance since the 2006 D-II transition.

A WIN BY DIXIE STATE WOULD...
• Mark the first two-game win streak since Weeks 2-3 of the 2012 season (WOU, APU)
• Break a three-game skid against the Clan
• Be the 10th win in the month of October since the NCAA D-II transition in 2006; DSU is 9-21 in October games

ALL-AMERICAN DUNCAN
Senior tight end Joe Don Duncan (Corona, CA/Notre Dame) (Corona, CA) returns for his highly anticipated final year holding a prestigious accolade. Duncan was named to the D2Football.com Preseason All-American List on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Two seasons ago, Duncan earned all-league, all-region and multiple All-American honors after leading the country in receptions and yardage for a tight end. Phil Steele listed him as the 27th best draft eligible TE available and Lindy's Sports Annuals "Look Ahead" named Duncan as the ninth best TE in the country.
