Box Score

TURLOCK, Calif. -- Sophomore Mattie Snow (Tooele, UT/Tooele High School) held #11 Chico State to just three hits to lead Dixie State to a 1-0 win in their second game today at the Mizuno Tournament of Champions.

Snow allowed one walk and three hits in a complete game shutout of the Wildcatss, her second shutout of the season and improve to 8-4 on the season.

The Red Storm (19-8) scored their lone run in the sixth inning when Jaelle Judkins (Saint George, UT/Dixie High School) reached on an infield single with one out. Courtney Hine followed with a single center to bring up (San Dimas, CA/San Dimas High School)Johnna Brown#. Brown would deliver what would be the game winning punch with an RBI single to center scoring Judkins from second base.

The Wilcats (22-9) best oppurtunity to plate a run came in the fourth, when Hailey Stockman reached on an error and was sacrificed to second base. Rachel Failla followed and reached on an error by the Chavez, but Stockman tried to score on the miscue and was thrown out at the plate to hold the WIldcats at bay.

In the seventh, Snow allowed her first walk, but struck out pinch hitter Jessie Minch to end the game and secure the Red Storm victory.

Chavez, Hine, Brown and Judkins each had hits for Dixie State.

The final game of day one of the TOC is at 6:45 pm against the host school Cal State Stanislaus. Check DixieAtheltics.com for updated game information and live stats.
