SERIES RECORD: This is the 12th meeting between the two schools and Dixie State leads the all time series 9-2. Last time out, the Red Storm defeated the Sea Warriors 80-71 in the Burns Arena on 1/21/11. Both series losses against Hawaii Pacific have come on the islands with the most recent coming last season in a 53-50 game on 2/28/11.

LAST TIME OUT: Five Red Storm players scored in double figures, include Junior center Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) scoring 20 points and collecting a career high 13 rebounds on way to her third career double double. Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) hit five three pointers and had 17 points. She also had six assists. Gabby Rodriguez hit three and tied her career high with 13 points. DSC shot 52.6 percent in the second half and outscored BYUH 54-36 to win 89-72.

AROUND THE PACWEST:  Its a log jam at the top of the PacWest standings. Four schools, Cal Baptist, Dixie State, Grand Canyon and Academy of Art all have 9-2 conference records. The Red Storm need a victory against HPU to keep pace with the other three schools.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Dixie State junior center Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) (Riverside, CA/Santa Clara) has been selected the latest Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Thomas led the Red Storm to a 3-0 week in Hawai'i by averaging 19.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.  She tied for second in scoring and ranked 11th in rebounding in the conference for the week.Thomas' shooting percentage also sparkled, ranking third in the PacWest for the week after making 59.5% (22 for 37) of her field goal attempts.

SCOUTING the RED STORM: Winners of the a season high five consecutive games and 9 of their last 10. DSC continues to play well and as of late that's in part to shooting the ball so well. DSC is now shooting the ball at 40.2 percent from field for the first time since early in the season. Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) is the leading scorer for the Red Storm at 14.6. DSC will need to shoot the ball well to be victorious against a team that can match the Red Storm offense shot for shot.

SCOUTING Hawaii Pacific: The PacWest second leading scorer in Mana Hopkins will look to cause a problem both inside and out. She averages 17.1 ppg and she a force to reckoned with. The key is to force the others on the team to beat you. HPU averages 70.2 ppg and connects on 41.9 percent from the field and a sizzling PacWest best 33.9 percent from behind the arc.
