SERIES: CBU leads 2-1

GAME INFO:  The Red Storm travel for a tought test against Cal Baptist on Saturday night. Tip off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. MT Listen to the live action on the Red Storm Radio Network -- KXDS 91.3 FM -- and online via DixieAthletics.com with John Potter calling the play-by-play.

SERIES RECORD: This will mark the 4th time the Lancers and the Red Storm have played. CBU leads the series 2-1 after a 74-68 win on 2/14/12 in Saint George. DSC look to even the series score and win for the first time at Van Dyne Gym.

LAST TIME OUT: Cal Baptist took an early 10-0 lead and never looked back, handing the Red Storm their first loss in seven games. DSC battled back and took a two point lead with just under eight minutes remaining, but the Lancers outscored DSC 25-14 from that point to steal the victory at the Burns. Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) led with 17 points and Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) picked up her fourth double double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

AROUND THE PACWEST:  After the mess this past week, four teams have three loses atop the PacWest standings. DSC and Academy of Art have a half game lead with 11 wins and Grand Canyon and Cal Baptist have 10 wins. What more do you want than the last two weeks of the season to decide the conference crown.

WEST REGION RANKINGS:  Released for the first time this season, Dixie State cracked the first poll at #8. UC San Diego is 23-0 and is 1st, Alaska Anchorage 2nd, Grand Canyon 3rd, CSU Monterey Bay 4th, Cal State LA 5th, Western Washington 6th, Cal Poly Pomona 7th, Humboldt State 9th and Montana State Billings 10th.

SCOUTING the RED STORM:
Dropping the game on Tuesday night, not much love going around the DSC locker room. The Lancers broke DSC's seven game winning streak and not much Valentine's love was flowing around the DSC locker room. Dixie State controls their own destiny with games against Cal Baptist, Grand Canyon, BYU Hawaii and Chaminade. They will need to win Saturday to keep themselves in the hunt.  Averaging 73.0 ppg and they are still a perfect 13-0 when they score at least 70 points. The Red Storm have three players who score in double figures. Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) leads the way with 15.0 ppg. Center Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) chips in 12.2 ppg and guard Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton) scores 11.4 ppg. The Red Storm will need to take care of the ball on Tuesday night and turn the ball over less than their season average of 19.2 a game. The Red Storm look the three pointer to score a majority of the points. They average 6.3 per game and connect on 32.6 ppg.

SCOUTING CAL BAPTIST: The Lancers are currently in tied for second place with Grand Canyon in the conference at 10-3. CBU has won four of their last fime games and look to build on that at home where they are 5-2 this season. They are a dangerous offensive team, averaging a PacWest best 74.2 ppg. Three players average in double figures for CBU. Junior guard Myria Hicks leads the way with 14.4 ppg, junior guard Simone Holmes at 12.3 ppg and junior forward Brittney Lewis adds 10.5 ppg.  The leading rebounder for the Lancers is Nicole Anderson at 6.6 pgg.
