SERIES: Dixie State leads DUC 4-1

GAME INFO:  The Red Storm will play for the second time on the three game road swing. Thursday's game against Dominican (CA) Unviersity is set to tip-off at 6:00 p.m. from the Conlan Center or better know as “The Igloo.” Listen to the live action on the Red Storm Radio Network -- KXDS 91.3 FM -- and online via DixieAthletics.com with John Potter calling the play-by-play.

SERIES RECORD: This will be the sixth meeting between the two squads with DSC holding a 4-1 all-time series advantage over the the Penguins. DSC is 2-0 all-time at the Conlan Center and the lone loss taking place in 2006 on a nuetral floor.

LAST TIME OUT: On Tuesday night the Red Storm lost a 60-59 battle with Academy of Art. It marked the first time that DSC has lost to the Urban Knights. Despite a career high 16 points for Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) and Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) sixth consecutive double figures game, the Red Storm shooting prevented them from overtaking the Urban Knights. A three-pointer with 23 seconds left and a lay-up as time expired both fell short in a last ditch effort.

A MILESTONE: Coach Angie Kristensen is fast approaching the 100 win mark at Dixie State. She needs just four wins to accomplish the feat. She is currently 96-49 at the helm of the Red Storm.

AROUND THE PACWEST: Call it a turning of tides or however you want to describe it but two perennial's were tripped up the last time out. Dixie State losing for the first time to Academy of Art and Hawaii Pacifc getting upended by Hawaii Hilo 53-50 in Honolulu. Other games featured Cal Baptist winning big over Notre Dame de Namur and Grand Canyon holding Dominican to a season low 34 points while scoring 62. A full slate of games take place on Thursday as well. NDNU hosts GCU, AAU hosts Cal Baptist, Domincan hosts DSC, BYU-Hawaii hosts Hilo and Chaminade hosts HPU.

SCOUTING the RED STORM:  Dixie State will try and play an up style tempo, both on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Forcing turnovers with high intensity with be their M.O. Getting tripped up at AAU will be a difficult thing to forget. The squad seems the need to find some killer instict. Leading the way for the Red Storm is Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) at 14.6 ppg. The Red Storm shoot 31.2 percent from behind the arc and 39.0 percent from the field. They average 72.0 ppg and will need to have a solid defensive effort.

SCOUTING DOMINCAN:  Every team in the conference is better.. Including Dominican.  The Red Storm needs to take care of the ball and force them into turning the ball over.  Not having a lot of success in the win column and playing under first year head coach Brianna Chambers, the Penguins will be prepared to battle the Red Storm.   The PacWest has a lot parity this year from top to bottom and Dominican will ruffle some feathers. On Tuesday night they scored a season low 34 points against conference favorite Grand Canyon. Average only 49.6 ppg and shoot 31.6 percent from the field. They are led by Kayla Valentine who averages 9.8 ppg and Jasmine Green grabs 6.4 rebounds per game.
