SERIES RECORD: This is the 13th meeting between the two schools and Dixie State leads the all time series 8-2. . Last time out, the Sea Warriors defeated DSC 53-50 in Honolulu on 2/28/11. The Red Storm are perfect at home (4-0) against Hawaii Pacific.

LAST TIME OUT: #14 ranked Grand Canyon University defeated the Red Storm women's basketball team 65-49 in a PacWest Conference battle on Monday night in the Burns Arena. Leading the way for the Antelopes was Malylinn Smith with 18 points and Jallisa Butler who earned a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds. For the Red Storm their anemic shooting woes continued against the nationally ranked Lopes. They managed to shoot just 23.9 percent from the field and managed only 13 points in the first half. Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) scored a team high 18 points. Depsite their shooting problems, the Red Storm cut the Lopes lead to six points with just under four minutes left in the game. GCU finished the game on a 15-4 run to put Dixie State away. The loss broke the 24-game home PacWest winning streak.

A MILESTONE: Coach Angie Kristensen can reach the 100 win mark at Dixie State. She will just need the big win tonight against Hawaii Pacific for her to reach the century mark. She is currently 99-50 at the helm of the Red Storm.

AROUND THE PACWEST: Cal Baptist stubbed their toe on Thursday night against Hawaii Pacific, putting the Lancers and Grand Canyon in a first place tie. After 4-0 Hawaiian road trip, Academy of Art is sitting in third with a 5-2 mark and DSC, HPU, and Hilo are and half game back with a 4-2 record.

SCOUTING the RED STORM:  With their anemic shooting woes continuing the last time out, Dixie State looks to try and stay on course during their four game homestand. Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) averages 15.2 points per game and is fresh off her 11th double digit performance of the season. The Red Storm managed to shoot just 23.9 percent against Grand Canyon, the 2nd time they have shot under 30 percent this season. Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) and Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton) need to follow Adams example and find their normal ways for the Red Storm to win. Averaging 72.0 ppg and winning the battle of the boards.

SCOUTING HAWAII PACIFIC: Tonights opponent HPU just came off a huge win over PacWest leader Cal Baptist and with play a lot of emotion. PacWest leading scorer Mana Hopkins brings her 17.7 ppg to town and they are 2nd in the conference in three pointers made with 5.8 per game at a tune of 33.5 percent. They average 71.9 ppg but will be playing without Skye Savini (13.6 pgg), who has not played in 7 games.
