SERIES: Dixie State leads DUC 5-1

GAME INFO:  The Red Storm return home for the first time since Dec. 18. They just completed a 2-1 San Francisco Bay Area road trip. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. inside the Burns Arena and they welcome Dominican (CA) University to town. Listen to the live action on the Red Storm Radio Network -- KXDS 91.3 FM -- and online via DixieAthletics.com with John Potter calling the play-by-play.

SERIES RECORD: This will be the sixth meeting all-time against the Penguins and DSC holds the series advantage 5-1. The Red Storm are 2-0 at home, and has won five straight. Last time out, DSC defeated Dominican 85-59 on 1/5/12 in San Rafael, Calif.

COMFY CONFINES: Entering tonight's game, the Red Storm bring a 23-game PacWest home winning streak.

LAST TIME OUT: Last Saturday Dixie State defeated Notre Dame de Namur 76-63. Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton) scored 23 points and Becca Thomas (Riverside, CA/Redwood) recorded her first double double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. With the win DSC remains just one game out of first place Cal Baptist.

A MILESTONE: Coach Angie Kristensen is fast approaching the 100 win mark at Dixie State. She needs just two wins to accomplish the feat. She is currently 98-49 at the helm of the Red Storm.

AROUND THE PACWEST:  Academy of Art has already won twice this week over Hilo and Chaminade in their week long trip to the Islands. BYU-Hawaii stubbed its toe against Hawaii Pacific on Tuesday night and Grand Canyon blew out Dominican 71-29 on Wednesday night. NDNU travels to Cal Baptist, AAU takes on BYUH, and Chaminade makes the short trip to Hilo on Saturday.

SCOUTING the RED STORM:  Playing for the second time in a week, DSC won the last meeting 89-59 at the Igloo. This game will be a good warm-up for nationally ranked Grand Canyon on Monday night. Adams torched the Penguins for 26 last time. Taking care of the ball and limiting the Penguins to an inside presence will lead the Red Storm to a win. Leading the way for the Red Storm is Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) at 15.0 ppg. The Red Storm shoot 32.5 percent from behind the arc and 40.6 percent from the field and they average 73.5 ppg

SCOUTING DOMINICAN: A team that has not won many games as a late and coming off a game in which they only scored 29 points, the Penguins will try and improve on that. Averaging just 49.3 ppg and shoot it at 31.5 percent from the field, DUC will be hungry for an upset of the Red Storm. 4th year head coach Brianna Chambers will try and light of spark under the fire. Kayla Valentine leads the way for the Penguins with 9.5 ppg.
