SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – After a scoreless first half, CSU San Bernardino forward Casey Hirsch broke free from the Dixie State defense and scored in the 48th minute helping the Coyotes to a 2-0 shutout win Thursday.

Dixie State drops to 0-1 on the young season after producing just eight shots compared to the Coyotes' 15.

The sixth-place team in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) preseason poll added a Brittany Wilding in the 81st minute sealing Dixie State's fate.

Camille Jensen (North Logan, UT/Sky View) and Mindi Beckstrom (Nibley, UT/Mountain Crest) paced the Red Storm with two shots apiece. April Beck (American Fork, UT/American Fork) did make eight saves despite taking the loss in goal.

Dixie State returns to the pitch Saturday afternoon against Northeastern State (OK) University at 12:30 p.m. Mountain time.
