SAINT GEORGE, UT
-Anna Cue (Murrieta Valley, CA/Murrieta Valley High School) went 3-3 with a single, two home runs and six RBI to lead Dixie State to an 8-0 five inning run-rule win in the first game of a PacWest doubleheader at Karl Brooks Field. In game two the Red Storm also prevailed 14-5 to sweep Grand Canyon University on the weekend.

The Red Storm (27-10, 17-3 PWC) concluded their home schedule with an impressive 19-1 record and now sit atop the PacWest Conference standings with a critical eight game road trip to the Hawaiian Islands.

In game one besides the offensive showcase that Cue displayed, Dixie State rode the back of Brittnie Miller (Moab. UT/Grand High School) in the circle. Miller making the final home start of her career was impressive, allowing only three hits, struck out three and didn't allow a run to improve to 11-3 on the season.

Jaelle Judkins (Saint George, UT/Dixie High School) had two hits and singled home a run in the fourth inning to help lead the Red Storm to victory.

In game two, the Red Storm tapped Antelope (17-22, 9-11 PWC) starter Janelle Christman for 14 runs on 15 hits to pickup the 14-5 victory.

Senior Ashley McFarland (Layton. UT/Layton High School) had two doubles and five RBI in her final Red Storm home appearance. Johnna Brown (Las Vegas, NV/Centennial ) had three hits, a homer and two singles and picked up two RBI.

Kelsey Mendenhall (Tooele. UT/Tooele High School) belted her team leading 10th home run, a two run shot in the Red Storm five run first inning. She finished the game with three hits, two doubles and three RBI.

Cue continued her torrid pace with a two run home run to leftfield in the fourth inning. She finished series with four homes and 14 RBI and lifted her season average to .407.

Mattie Snow (Tooele, UT/Tooele High School) and Egge each added two hits.

Junior pitcher Lauren Folta (Erda. UT/Tooele High School) pitched a complete game allowing just one earned run while striking out three Grand Canyon batters. She improves to 13-5 on the season.

Grand Canyon's Christine Norvell picked up three hits, including her first home run of the season. Rachel Meyer had a towering three run shot right field to pick up three RBI. GCU's runs all came with two outs and the inning was extended due to a Red Storm miscue.

Dixie State will depart Monday for the Hawaiian Islands and take on Chaminade on Wednesday night in a doubleheader beginning at 8:00 PM. For updated information on the games please visit DixieAthletics.com.
