SAINT GEORGE, UT-For the fourth consecutive game a Dixie State College softball pitcher has allowed less than two runs. Today, Red Storm hurlers held Weber State University at bay, winning 3-0 and 7-2.

Dixie State (10-3) got an outstanding performance from Lauren Folta (Erda. UT/Tooele High School) in game one. She held the Wildcats (3-11) to just two hits and struck out three batters in seven innings of work. She improved to 5-2 on the year.

Breanna Egge (Las Vegas. NV/Centennial High School) hit her third home run of the year, a solo shot in the first inning to give the Red Storm the early lead. Three innings later, Kelsey Mendenhall (Tooele. UT/Tooele High School) hit her third home run as well, a two run shot to centerfield.

Egge led DSC with two hits and six other players had hits for the Red Storm.

In game two, it was more solid pitching with Brittnie Miller (Moab. UT/Grand High School) throwing a complete game, allowing two runs and giving up six hits while striking out six Wildcat batters. With her performance she improved to 5-1 on the year.

After scoring one run in the first three frames, Mendenhall hit a 2RBI single down the left field line and Anna Cue (Murrieta Valley, CA/Murrieta Valley High School)doubled to right center picking 2 RBI as well.

Cue and Jaelle Judkins (Saint George, UT/Dixie High School) had two hits a piece to lead Dixie State.

For Weber State, Samantha Rivers had two hits.

The Red Storm are will have a week off and are scheduled to play Southern Utah University next Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 PM at Karl Brooks Field.
