UP NEXT - Dixie State College closes out their 2010-2011 home schedule with a Senior Night matchup against Notre Dame de Namur University. Tip time is 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Earlier in the season, Dixie State finished off a sweep of the Bay Area schools with a 71-60 win in Belmont over the Argonauts. Griffon Jones (Cheney, WA/Cheney) and Solomon Jensen (Centerville, UT/Viewmont) combined for 31 points and the team shot over 41-percent from distance for the win. NDNU has lost seven of their last eight games. Most recently, the Argos dropped a close 63-58 decision at Grand Canyon. Dixie State College has won the last eight meetings against NDNU after the Argos won three of the first four contests.

RED STORM WATCH - The Red Storm, the defending PacWest Conference Co-Champions, are the nation's best in field-goal percentage defense keeping opponents to 35.9% from the field per game. Tom Whitehead (St. George, UT/Dixie) averages a team-high 13.5 points a game. Griffon Jones (Cheney, WA/Cheney) (10.3 PPG), the only other Red Storm player in double-figure scoring average this season, pulls down on average 5.6 boards. Dixie State is scoring 73.6 points per game and holding opponents to 60.7 points per contest - a differential of 12.9 points (15th best in NCAA). DSC is pulling down an average of 37.3 rebounds in a game (+3.2 over opponents). The Storm also ranks in the Top 10 in three-point field-goal defense (6th at 28.8%).

THE OPPONENT -
The Argonauts have limped to a 4-19 record this season including a 2-10 mark in Pac West play. NDNU has only two Division-II victories - on the road at Hawaii Pacific and at home against Academy of Art.

A trio of guards pace the day-to-day scoring. Arron Mollet, a junior from Campbell, Calif., averages 13.1 points just ahead of Jeff Ford's 12.9 PPG (junior from Hayward). Junior guard/forward Tyler Fricke, from San Diego, is at 12.5 PPG and leads the Argos with 6.4 rebounds.

As a team, NDNU ranks 8th in the PWC with 64.0 points scored while allowing 71.8 points (6th in PWC scoring defense). They rank near the middle in every other statistical category - topping out at 4th in the league in free-throw percentage at 71.2%.

George Puou is the head coach for the men's basketball team and also serves as an assistant athletic director. Notre Dame de Namur University was founded in 1851 - 40 years before Dr. Jame Naismith invented the game of basketball.

REGIONALLY SPEAKING -  Dixie State moved up two spots to No. 4 in the latest West Region ranking released Wednesday, Feb. 16. The Red Storm are the highest Pac West ranked team just ahead of Chaminade at No. 5 and BYU-Hawaii at No. 8. Central Washington remained in the top spot while Pac West foe Grand Canyon dropped out of the top 10.

JUDKINS APPROACHING CAREER MILESTONE -
Head Coach Jon Judkins is three wins away from number 100 in his Dixie State College tenure and 19 wins away from 400 for his career.

WHERE THE HEART GROWS FONDER - Tonight's game is the final regular-season game in the Burns Arena for the 2010-2011 baskeball season. The Red Storm are 6-2 this year at home - beating Pacifica College, Chaminade, Dominican, Academy of Art, Hawaii Hilo & Hawaii Pacific while losing back-to-back to Grand Canyon and BYU-Hawaii in January.

HONOR ROLL FOR BARNES, WHITEHEAD - A pair of seniors - guard Jeremiah Barnes (Compton, CA/Los Altos) and forward Tom Whitehead (St. George, UT/Dixie) - were name to the PWC Top 10 for Week #14. Barnes set a career-high with 22 points against UH-Hilo and averaged 20.0 points per game during the week. Whitehead pulled down nine rebounds for the third time this year, averaged 13.5 points and hit all seven free-throws he attempted last week.
