#11 Cal Poly Pomona Out Run Dixie State 70-52

Box Score POMONA, Calif. -- The Dixie State College women's basketball team dropped a non-conference game today to #11 ranked Cal Poly Pomona 70-52.

Ariel Marsh scored 19 points off the bench to lead all scorers and spark the Bronco offense to victory. Sarah Semenero played all 40 mintues and scored 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

For the second straight game the Red Storm struggled shooting the ball in the first half and it ultimatley became their demise in this contest. Connecting on 28 percent (7-25) from the field and 0-13 from three point range, DSC could not battle back from the early set back.

Credit the defense of the Broncos, forcing the Red Storm to committ a season-high 27 turnovers. They also forced DSC to shoot under 30 percent for the game.

CPPU did most of their damage at the free-throw game, connecting on 22-35 on the night. The Red Storm only earned a chance at the charity stripe 11 times and connecting on six of them. DSC was called for 28 fouls to just nine for the Broncos.

Erica Hayes (East Palo Alto, CA/Menlo-Atherton) led DSC in scoring with 13 points and Sheila Adams (Layton, UT/Layton) chipped in 12.

Dixie State dropped to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in PacWest and Cal Poly Pomona remained unbeaten at 6-0 overall and 3-0 in CCAA play.

The Red Storm return home and play next Sunday at 2 p.m. when they host Cal State San Marcos in the Burns Arena.
