VB: Jensen and Shearer Help Extend Win Streak to Four Matches

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. -- Brita Jensen (Taylorsville, UT/Taylorsville) and Alex Shearer (Park City. UT/Park City) combined for 23 kills to help extend the Dixie State College volleyball team win streak to four matches. The Red Storm won 25-20, 25-13, 25-16 in three games over Dominican University of California.

The Red Storm are 10-6 overall and 5-3 in the PacWest. DSC finished with 97 digs as a team, 24 more than the Penguins.

Coach Darice Pratt said, "We limited the amount of mistakes that we made and focused on not giving them free points."

Freshman setter Jen Hardman (American Fork, UT/American Fork) had 35 assists tonight and Jayci Jeffress (Brighton. CO/Brighton) had 23 digs to lead the team defensivley.

Cayla Morphew led the Penguins with seven kills. DUC drops to 0-11 overall and 0-4 in PacWest play.

Dixie State concludes their five game and seven day road trip with a match at Notre Dame de Namur at 7:00 PM. Last night DSC defeated NDNU in three sets.
