Jensen and Hill have 12 kills each, lead Red Storm to 25-22, 25-13, 25-23 win over NDNU

BELMONT, Calif. – Brita Jensen (Taylorsville, UT/Taylorsville) and Morgan Hill (Logan. UT/Logan) had 12 kills each to lead the Dixie State College volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-13, 25-23 win over PacWest foe Notre Dame de Namur.
 
The Red Storm improved to 9-6 overall and 4-3 in the PacWest and have rattled off three consecutive wins and four in their last five.
 
Dixie State had nine team blocks with several players making a defensive stand at the net by forcing the Argonauts into a .160 hitting percentage.
 
Shannon Young (Whittier, CA/St Paul) sparked DSC in her first start of the year with a season high nine kills and Alex Shearer (Park City. UT/Park City) also added nine to her season total. The Red Storm hit .316 for the match.
 
Coach Darice Pratt said, “tonight was a great night where we had some gals come off the bench and really contribute to our win.”
 
The achilles heel for the Red Storm all year has been the number of service errors they have committed. They are averaging 1.9 errors per set and added seven more to season figure tonight.
 
“We were focusing on our side of the court tonight, striving for consistency, Pratt continued. “Tomorrow we are going to focus on our serves and try and minimize those errors.”
 
For the Argonauts, Christin Villamayor had a match-high 19 kills. NDNU drops to 2-17 overall and 2-5 in PacWest play.
 
Dixie State will travel to San Rafael to play Dominican at 7 p.m., before returning to conclude their five match road trip at Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday.
